Yellowtail Surgeonfish

Prionurus punctatus is a species of surgeonfish belonging to the family Acanthuridae. Commonly known as the spotted surgeonfish or the yellowspot surgeonfish, it inhabits coral reefs in the Indo-Pacific region. These fish are recognized by their distinctive coloration, which includes a yellowish body with numerous small blue spots scattered across the scales. They play a role in reef ecosystems by grazing on algae, contributing to the health and balance of coral reef communities.
