Carribean Chestnut Moray

(Enchelycore carychroa)

 

The Caribbean chestnut moray, Enchelycore carychroa is a moray eel of the family Muraenidae.

It is found in the Western Atlantic Ocean from Bermuda, South Florida, the Bahamas and the Gulf of Mexico to Brazil.  Typically in shallow water.  They are small growing species rarely growing over 10″  They are very similar to Viper eels and are often confused with them.
